Anybody have the torque specs for the bolts when you re-tighten? I don't have a manual, so I don't want to do this until I know what to retorque the bolts to. Also, should you jack up the engine while you're retorqueing the bolts?
My '07 Dyna manual shows 21-27 ft. lbs for the bolts.
Is there anything wrong with leaving the vibration as is?
I don't mind the vibration either at idle or when riding, except that I can't see a DAMN THING in my mirrors. So if this will help with that I'm doing it.
just watch out , coz when ya take both bolts out the motor will drop and move the the left , but only a little , so but a jack under it first to take the weight to stop this movement .
So the bike is on the ground and you just put the jack under the motor?
I just did it. I loosened the lower bolt almost 1/2" then started backing the top bolt out. As I was backing the top bolt out the mount started moving back away from the frame. When it stopped moving the top had a gap of about 1/4" and the bottom was still touching the frame (both bolts still in). I then placed a small floor jack under the bike and jacked the engine up and as I did the gap became even at about 3/8" on both top and bottom bolt. I went and purchased new bolts that were 1/4" longer, added loctite and installed them. Torqued them to 27ft lbs. I didn't have a chance to ride it but will first thing in the morning. Hope this helps.

i dont think just using longer bolts will help at all , if ya still got the gap you'll still get the vibration , ya got'a get rid of that gap between the mount and frame ,
