BCT Monster Baffles and V&H FuelPak - Is FuelPak Remap Required?
I would like to get a set of BCT Monster Baffles (P/N 2001) to install in my V&H Straightshot HS Slip-On mufflers on my 2007 FXDC. I have read many posts and have heard only good things about them regarding the lower, more "rumbly" sound and slight power gains.
My question is, will I have to contact V&H for a "remap" of my FuelPak? (I'm running FuelPak Map # FP-0604). Right now I've had the combination of V&H HS Straightshot Slip-On mufflers with standard baffles, V&H FuelPak and HD Screaming Eagle Air Cleaner on for over 11,000 miles and the bike runs excellent.
Thanks,
Richard

From the response in this thread you should be fine. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/4730996-post31.html

Call FP support and see what they say. If you don't think the answer they give is helpful or useful, run it like is and see if there are any noticeable issues like popping on decel, etc. You could also do the plug check to make sure you are okay. If there are any issues, try the mode 23=15 and see if it makes a difference.

Thanks everyone. What I did was email Vance & Hines today. I emailed both FuelPak Technical Support and Exhaust Pipes Technical Support. They got back to me very quickly. Here's what they said.
1. Adam Rogers of V&H Exhaust Pipes Support: "Richard, It depends on the inside diameter of the baffles. Just let me know what it is and I can provide you with the correct setting"
2. Derek Hewitt of V&H FuelPak Technical Support: "Richard, With the BCT baffles no changes to the FP-0604 map you are running are needed."
I then emailed both of them at the same time and said to them, "hey guys, what's it gonna be..?
3. I got an email from Adam Rogers of V&H Exhaust Pipes Technical Support: "Yeah use the same map. FP-0604"
Gee...I will get the BCT baffles as I have heard nothing but good things about them. I'll run it hard for a while with the BCT baffles and observe the performance, etc. If all is okay, no problem. I've had the FuelPak and stock-baffled Straightshot HS Slipons for over 10,000 miles and the setup runs perfectly. I'd hope for the same with the BCT baffles. If there is any popping, etc, I'll try changing Mode 23 to 15.
