Default Mustang or Saddleman seat?!

Having a tough time making up my mind between these two seats... Anyone have one or the other? Like/disklike? I've had a Mustang seat on a previous bike and really liked it, but that Saddleman with gel in it sounds pretty sweet too! Any suggestions? This for my '05 Wide Glide, for my wifes comfort and mine...

I put over 300 miles on my bike this last weekend. The Mustang I have was quite comfortable. It is a vintage wide solo.

I would choose the reputation and Quality of the Mustang over a saddleman. Oh, wait, I did.

People seem happy with their mustangs and the saddleman just doesn't look as good.

As good as a mustang tour seat...

Don't get me wrong - I LOVE my vintage wide Mustang, but I'm kinda likin' the look of that saddleman. Seems to have a much higher back support for the rider, but I gotta' wonder how the gel will hold up in the elements over time. Also, I really like the look of my solo seat, and in seconds I can bolt on the pillion for 2-up.

Decisions decisions - glad their yours and not mine!

Good Luck.

Go with Mustang for quality, comfort and durability. Too bad you have a 2005. I have the exact same Mustang seat for sale on HD Forums Parts for Sale - except that it fits 2006-2009 Dynas. I coulda given you a good deal but it won't fit your bike. My seat for sale is Mustang P/N 75535.

If you live in a warm State, that gel can be a real pain in the a$$ literally, it asorbs heat when you are off the bike for a little while and saves it for you when you sit!

First of all, thanks for the link. Dennis Kirk beat all the prices for the Mustang that I've been looking at by about $50; I just ordered one.

Second, I agree with the recommendations on the Mustang (I guess that's kind of a "duh" since I just ordered one) based on past experiences with them. I had one on my '99 1200C and it saved my butt big time. Also, ReeseSS is spot on about the gel heating up. I have one of the nice after market gel pads, the Butt Buffer. When the weather's mild, it's alright, but when it starts getting hot it has a tendency to retain the heat. On the positive side, it does keep your buns cool when it's mild, but in Florida, like here in Texas, it's warmer/hotter more often than mild.

Best of luck in your choice.

Thanks to all for your input, I've just ordered the Mustang... can't go wrong! And yes, it gets hotter than hell here in South Carolina!

And yes again, Dennis Kirk has by far the best prices on those seats!
