oil tank on softtail not on dyna?

Rubber mounted twin cams (FLH, FXD) carry the engine oil in a sump below the trans; softail twin cams are rigidly mounted and carry the oil in a seperate tank as you've noted. It gives the softails more of an authentic "rigid" look and I imagine there's engineering reasons, too...would make the rubber mount trans cases bigger overall; probably handy when they hang the swingarm and rear wheel off the back of the trans...

Thanks guys. just one of those things that make you go hmmmm I don't know. I just got off the phone with Jamie at Fuelmoto. My PC-v is on the way . Now just waiting for the heavy breather to get here- ebay $225 shipped nib. Rush 1.75s on the fatbob. Now if we can just get the temps out of the thirtys. Mike
