I got the Ricor IAS inserts the other day and will install them in a day or two, so I've been looking at shocks to compliment.

I know Works/Werks makes some REAL nice stuff. I was looking at their shocks too. I've heard some not so good reports about Progressive, so I'll look else where. YSS makes good stuff too. I wonder how the Haggan shocks hold up? I think the YSS and Werks are going to have more adjustability that the Haggan, but I'm not sure.

Thanks!

Mike
I hear those IAS inserts are real nice, I'm sure you'll love them. For now, my Works front end is perfect, but I kinda wish I had known about those IAS things earlier. I'm not about to take apart my forks again though, I did that once installing the dual front brake kit, and it'll be awhile before I want to tackle that again. I would stay away from Progressive, but tons of other good options. I suggest you call Works and talk to them about what you want, they're really helpful and friendly.

I totaly agree with this statement. After closer examination I'm 99% sure I can build my own. Not more than $50-$60 for materials.........................
Probably right, but I sure don't have the know-how. I guess you gotta pay to play though

Thanks. I hear ya on there always being something, but I've had this bike in a million pieces so many times lately, I'm done wrenching for quite awhile. Front brake kit, front springs, shocks, turn signal removal.... My bike's seen more time up on the lift than it has the road!! I've spent $0 so far on chrome doo-dads though, only stuff that makes a good bike much better.

...and I don't even have a stage 1 or pipes or any of that stuff! Uh oh...

Cool, I love how many people I've noticed popping up with bikes set up to ride hard. Just cuz it's a Harley doesn't mean it can't be set up to carve! My goal has been sport-touring-cruiser, and I think I'm there. For the money, the Superbrace is a nice piece, definitely helps with my puny 39mm forks. It didn't have quite the dramatic difference in rideability that it did when I put one on my old DL1000 V-Strom. That was night and day. On this bike, it was more like night and mid-morning Still money well spent though, but if it was a choice between Superbrace and IAS valves, well, valves it is

How do you like the Works shocks? I'm a big Works fan, and I may end up with those shocks sometime in the future. For now the FXDXT stuff works real nice

Hey Adrian, why did you sell the TT ? I remember you raving about how great it was.
Yeah, what happened Adrian?
Money's a little tight right now, and I need new tires.................. so, either I keep riding with new tires or just let the bike sit with a pretty true track being put to ZERO use. LOL it will always be there for me to buy again. So no biggie.

You made the right choice as there's no better way to spend money on a bike than new tires IMO, but you're going to have to get this back as soon as you can Thanks for the deal!

I have 400 miles on my new setup. I really like the Works shocks they are plush and firm at the same time. I could bottom the stock shocks by myself and it was really bad 2 up. I haven't come close with the Works shocks, very nice ride. I think the best part about dealing with Works was these shocks were valved and sprung for my weight and riding style. Off the shelf shocks can't touch this ride quality. If I want to change anything Works will revalve or respring for free for 30 days....

Hope this doesn't anger anyone, it is after all, my own opinion which is what we are all supposed to use this site for.

Speedjunkie, how can you legitimately judge the performance of any ONE performance part, when you wholesale changed out tires at the same time as the TT was installed?

I would be willing to bet my next paycheck 90% of the improved or enhanced performance was due to the Metzelers. I replaced my stocks at the end of last season and installed 880's. It was like riding a different bike. Amazing performance enhancement.

For any other DynaRiders out there consodering a TT, or tires, or shocks, think about what you want to enhance first, then do one at a time until you get what you want. It will save you time, work, and $$ in the long run.

Oops, meant to start that last message addressed to "MZBuckeye" not "Speedjunkie."
