How do you guys get the exhaust bracket off the bottom? It is a torx 27 but tough to get an angle on it. Any help would be appreciated.

you mean the forward bracket that you are no longer using? If so there is a special tool they make to fit up in there and get those bolts out.

Here's the tool from JP Cycles. Any shortened T-27 torx bit will work. Some have cut down a torx bit to fit between the bracket and the frame. Others buy the tool. At $22 it's not terribly expensive, so I bought the tool. There are T-27 bolts all over the Dynas, so I figured I'd use the JP wrench again in the future, not just once on my exhaust bracket.

Haven't used it a second time yet....but it's in my tool collection nonetheless.

I just went through that friggin hell on Sunday. Got my BR lastweek and thought I'd get things ready when all my stuff comes in.

Got to that bracket and could get the inner bolt off with my torx bit.
The other's were another story.

The one in front I was able to plink it around using a hammer & center punch around the edge to drive it counter clockwise.
The other was a major bitch. It would not budge with that method.
After a number of times smashing my thumb, I got out the dremel tool with a sanding bit / mini drum and ground the head down. I was then able to knock it off and used pliers to turn it out.

Had to be careful with the sanding bit as there is a cable or line kinda close.
Good luck with yours.
Why oh why did they use buttonhead screws instead of hex. Sheesh!

Forgot to say I just left mine on. Good thing too, I have a D&D fatcat that utilizes the mount now.

I only wish I had that type. I bought the craftsman socket type.

But a good tip for Painguy regardless.

I used duct tape. Taped the torx tool out of it's socket and taped to a 3/8" closed end wrench...sorta like the tool but free.

I used a small flat chisel and tapped them out no problem. 5 minute job.
