Default 2005 valve seal issue

Next month I'm taking the bike in for the 20,000 mile service and just learned about the 05 valve seal issue. Not knowing much about motors, is this something that if I ask them to check, they can do "easily? I've searched the internet but can't find any TSB or safety recall on it. Does anyone have a .pdf or a link so I can print it out and show the dealer? I do have the extended warranty on it so if it needs to be fixed, I'd rather get it done before it expires.

I've exhausted my resources as to the TSB that covered the situation. The first question will be how much oil have you been using between changes? This was taken care of under warranty. Some 05's had the wrong seals installed, you'd use oil and foul plugs. The heads have to come off and valves pulled out. My old work order showed 4.5 hours in time/labor. If you get the work done and you have chrome valve covers spend the coin and get the chrome valve cover bolts installed.

BTW, how much oil consumption are we talking about when there is a valve problem?

It's not the valves, but the valve guide seals. Many have had in excess of 1 qt. of oil consumed (burned ) in a 1k miles. The plugs will also so a heavy coating, oil soot on the them. If your plugs have been good and no oil consumption (or minimal) I wouldn't be too concerned. If you bike is out of warranty it would more than likely be on your dime.
