Is there even going to be a Myrtle Beach rally? Isn't that the one where the city passed all these "local" ordinances to essentially lock the bikers out?
Just as an FYI, I just looked up the Vance and Hines website and they claim that the quiet baffles will bring it down 2-3 db's.

The cities, towns, and county around MB are still strongly supporting the rally and inviting bikers. Lots of folks still going to the rally and will be telling the city of MB to kiss their *** buy not spending bucks in the city limits. MB is about to find out if their choice not to support the rally will greatly impact their tax base.

i emailed vance & hines this same question. i think they said 3-4 db less. how did they measure your pipes, did they have a db meter or did they stand said distance away from your bike and listen to it??? this brings me back to the days of car audio competition... 130 db in an Eclipse with 1 10" sub, first place baby!

california gets a bad wrap for cracking down on a whole bunch of stuff but we don't do state inspections and nobody gives a crap about how loud your bike is. Also, we do have to wear helmets, but the cops look the other way on novelty helmets, as long as you have one, it's fine.

I think it was in the late 80's, i was a kid so i dont remember, i've always had to wear one so it doesn't bug me. The older guys i know that rode back in the day hate them with a passion. It's like $100 ticket if you ride without one. i've riden around the block several times without one on after washing bike to blow the excess water out, but other then that i always wear at least a novelty helmet.
