From a technical stand point I can appreciate his work, but from an aesthetic standpoint, not for me.

Icecaps: I hope you don't misinterpret what I have said. I wasn't saying negative comments toward the work that he does, I simply meant that the work done here, in my opinion, is hideous. Yes, to each his own, but I'm sure there are a select "his own" that will actually love the way it looks. I've seen some of his other work, and a lot of it is just down right incredible, but this just isn't doing it for me.

The SOA comment was pretty lame. I don't care where THIS particular bike shows up........I just think it is simply ugly. No offense towards his work.

The talent that it takes to create his metal work and paint is tremendous. Don't think he's ever tried to fit in.
Here's a link to his website:
http://www.finchscustoms.com/index.htm

And for the black bike only crowd here's another website to avoid:
http://www.strokersdallas.com/custom-bikes/

Both of these guys have been in business since the '60's.

Guess they won't be accepted until their bikes show up on SOA.

SOA or HDF....
all others need not apply.

Thanks for the Stroker's link.
I haven't looked at his work for a while.
The new Website is much improved.

Actually the comment has to do with style. Two years ago on the forum the ideas of fairings, suspension mods, and huge "in your face" tachs would have been received about as well as Finch's bike was.
Things change and who knows what will be the next big thing. I'm just having some respect for those that have been doing it for a long time "their way" and not bending into what’s the latest.

I dont care for the paint, but the leather covered dash is pretty cool. I'm surprised some of the BoB crowd aint likin' that. Brown leather seat and brown leather covered dash might look pretty damned good.

There are some works of art that are not my cup of tea ... Jackson Pollock, some of Picasso's more abstract works, for example. But, I can still appreciate them for what they are. This bike is kind of like that for me as well (also the other Finch ... recently featured in Easy Rider).

Same thing with some of forum members' bikes that get posted in photos ... their particular style may not appeal to me, but I like to see all kinds (and generally try to refrain from trashing someone's baby). Would be kind of boring if everyone's bike looked like Boskin's, or Jake's or Saint's or Joe Knapp's or whose ever (or mine!) ... just saying ...

Mud, anyone who reads AIM will recognize that Stroker bike from an ad that's currently running.
