Angry powder coated stock front wheel

Helping my buddy with his bike (00 Lowrider). He just got the wheels powdercoated black. Wheels, spokes, hubs. After reassembly the front brakes are grabbing while spinning the front wheel. It acts like the rotors are warpped. My guess is that the powdercoating layed down uneven on the hub and is causing the run out to be out of specs. Has anyone elso had this problem after getting their wheels powdercoated? What was your fix?

Pull the rotor and look at the hub flange for high spots in the PC then sand them down gently until the surface is even and the rotor sits correctly.

No he did not have them tape it off. Going to tape the outside part of the hub off and take the angle grinder with sandpaper to them. Will the tape keep the powdercoat from flaking off when getting close to the edge?

good pouder does not flake. those hubs are alum!!!!! you will destroy them with an angle grinder!!!! way to many RPM's to take down some powder. dremil or block sand it... after your tape off the sections you dont want hit. you will make waves if you use and angle grinder... just tell your buddy nnext time he drops off powder to let the coater know where and where not to lay powder... some of us build bikes some of us do not... if you do not tell them they dont know. I know when i get some car parts and truck stuff sometimes i am lost on them, so i just coat everything that i was nto specificly told not to...
just a bit of a heads up

Man, he should have taped the hub flanges off! My brother is a powder coater and just did his OEM FXD wheels, and they were taped off, and turned out just fine....

take a sanding block to it and put some elbow grease into it......not a grinder that would be bad....
