Default 2000 Dyna broken motor mount already??

This Dyna has about 10,000 miles on it and I just now see the front mount below the oil filter has a partial break on the rubber. I was just about to mount an oil cooler when I saw it.

Is this common, seems early to me but I alway rode a softail, this is the wifes bike. Any others out there have this issue and as this is Sunday can't call the stealership. How much are they going for?? Thanks

I thought I saw one in J&P Cycles for $168.00, I can only imagine what H-D wants for theirs. I've got 34k on my 2002 FXD haven't noticed anything yet.

Rubber doesn't care how many miles it has ridden. What breaks them down fastest is oils and UV rays. They also dry rot like old tires.
For my 2002 FXD I thnk the cost was like 95.00.
Install it loosely, Run the motor so it finds it's sweet spot then torque it down.

I bought a '99 Road King last year that had only 13k miles on it. I brought it in to my mechanic so he could give it the once over and it had a broken front motor mount. I think he only charged me about $70 to fix it. From what I remember, the part itself wasn't that much money.

now if you are goin on looks alone, they all look torn.
if there are no symptoms, such as increased vibes, or contact with parts, you're ok
they all have that look.
excellent harley finishing

Default Front Motor Mount

The list price for my Street Bob's was $109.00. If you do it yourself, it isn't hard but requires the bike to be in the full upright position and you need a scissor jack to move the engine back into place to line up the bolts to the mount.

Broke the front mount on my 03 when it was only 2 years old. But it was getting a little more than stock torque to deal with (125ft/lb). As I recall the new mount was cheap and easy to install.

Thanks for the feedback.
It looks slightly torn on the upper top area when I slightly twisted up the mount with the lower bolts loose. I will visit the HD shop to see what new looks like but this one seems really soft also, likely from oil and age.
