My wife just took delivery on her new low rider. She want a screen and I want her to look beyond just harley. Any good non harley options out there? Short and smoke would be her preference.

 

We looked at alot of differn't screens for the wifes '08 lowrider. Bought a Memphis Shades and didn't like the mounting. In the end we ended up with the Harley one. Their quick release seems to be alot micer set up. Everything removes from the bike, so when the screen is not on, you can never even tell it has one. All the other brands we looked at, the mounts stayed attached to the bike and just the screen and the frame were removed, when you have it off, it looks bad with the mounts still on the bike. JMO.

 

I have a Memphis shades and leave it on all the time except to clean the bike. If I took it off from time to time I probably would have bought the Harley QR theirs is the only one I have seen with hardware that comes off completely.

 

I have had both the Harley detachable and the Windvest 16". The Windvest is thicker than the Harley, and it does come off pretty quickly. The mounts stay on but to me they did not look that bad. I like the look of the Harley better, the Windvest is more durable. It comes off with two allen screws, the mounts follow the forks. They have a smoke 16" also.



So it depends on your taste both do the job. If I had to do it again on my new bike, I would have bought the Windvest.
