Default black smoke from pipes

is it normal to have black smoke coming from the pipes when you 1st start the bike...what causes it and what can i do to fix it...would it be too rich on startup and would a new pc3usb map be in order.. if its a map thing would anyone have a map they would care to share.. my specs are 06 dyna se stage 1 breather kit, python bigshots,andrews 26h cams and stock ecm...thanks guys for any advice

I would say it's just carbon build up inside the pipes.

The black smoke is from extra fuel being used during the cold start process, it's quite possible that it could be a tad rich. Maybe someone with a pc3 installed can help you out.

well the pipes are new and i havent put maybe 40miles on them..could it be carbon build up that fast..

Black smoke is usually fuel...

Could be some packing grease in the pipes burning off?

would a new map fix this.. i guess i can live with it but i just hate seeing smoke coming out of the bike..i might look into a new map or maybe try my hand at tweeking the one i have in it now..

Black smoke= rich fuel mixture. Could be due to automatic choke when first firing up or it could be an improper fuel mixture.

Blue smoke= oil burning. This is when you need to worry.

Pull your spark plugs and check them out. If they are black, it is probably running rich, if they are white , you are running too lean and a light tan is a good mixture.
