Default Got hit yesterday

By a wheel that came off an SUV. I was sitting at an offramp waiting to make a left turn when I hear this screeching scraping noise, then out of the corner of my eye I see a Lincolne SUV sliding down the road sans his left front wheel, which was headed right at me. Tried to move the bike but the wheel hit my front end. I kept the bike upright but the front end got tweeked pretty bad. Was able to ride it to the dealer but to keep the bike going straight I had to **** the bars to the right and the front wheel was wobleing all over the place. So my question is, in the 25 + years that I have been riding on the street I havent been down, does this count, even though technicaly I didnt go down?

I don't think it counts as beeing down. Your record stands.
Imagine being next to that suv at 70 miles an hour when that wheel came off!
Could of been a disaster at the least.
I'm glad your ok.

Its not the number of times that you go down but the number of times you get back up that really matters

Heck no it doesn't count and I think you should get a "mulligan" for being alert enough to "SEE" the deal and not go down-kudo's

IMO, you did not go down. An example of going down is my stupidity: I was riding last fall early on a Sunday morning. I was getting hungry so I pulled into a service station right next door to a Micky D's. As I was pulling up to the pump to gas up (but thinking about eating), I let my LowRider stall. It pitched me forward and the bike started to go down. I wasn't strong enough to keep it from laying down and (embarrassingly) another biker rode by and helped me upright the scooter. It ruptured the front brake line as it landed on the brake lever and I had to ride the 150 miles back home with brake fluid all over me and the bike and no front brake. Fortunately (according to the dealer) it was the old style brake fluid (05') which was not corrosive to the paint. You had no control over your situation but I did. Bottom line, glad you were not hit--just the bike. Your front end can get fixed--BTW, did the Lincoln's driver reimburse you for your damages?
