Excellant Advice, about taking a set back if things are not going together correctly. I usually polish some chrome or something to get over the problem. Still making the bike look nice and when it goes back together for your test ride you have a nice clean scooter.

Kevin, where are you located?

I put on a chrome inner primary and it was a pretty easy job, just took a few hours. I took pictures of the complete job, and can post them if you want. I made my locking tool, and can mail you one if you want, but you can also make one real easy. I'm sure someone close by to you will lend you a big torque wrench if you need it.

I'm in Western Kentucky. Those pictures you took might help me out! I like to get a good idea of what I'm going to see instead of just opening it up like a Cracker Jacks box and "surprise"!

Check your PM's too!

Also, are there any other chrome goodies that I should go ahead and put on since I'm going in that deep? Since I've got to take the starter out it sounds like it would be a good time to put on the chrome cover for it. You know, that kind of stuff!

I think the part number on those sealing fasteners is 786a There are 5 of them.

Can anyone confirm this as the right part number?

I just took a look at my invoice that is the correct part number 786a. You need 5.

1. Boards, shifter and outer primary cover off.
2. loosen loctite with heat.
3. breaker bar on crank nut
