Default dead horse

kb I lasted 12 hours ...when to dealer today for more "training "
since I have the screaming eagle slip ons with stage 1 a/c but not the SE 2 s they can swap out without another down load by adding a cartridge(#part 34400-06 for 8 degree injectors) if I go to 25 degree injectors I need #34392-06 PLUS a new down load
AND if I go with sert then that cost plus dynotune then i install the BCT baffles
[sm=outcold.gif] I need a check up from the neck up

Those part numbers you are referring to are not on the Dyna list.... and this is the latest and greatest ECM Flash list.

06 Dyna 1450 Stage I Legal 34238-06/DT 8 SE A/C, Stock Exhaust and 02 Feedback
1450 Stage I Legal 34361-06/DT 25 SE A/C, Stock Exhaust and 02 Feedback
1450 Stage I Race 34399-06 8 SE A/C & SE Pro Slip Fit Mufflers
1450 Stage I Race 34385-06 25 SE A/C & SE Pro Performance Exhaust
1550 Stage I Legal 34265-06/DT 8 or 25 SE Stage I Big Bore. Stock Exhaust and 02 Feedback
1550 Stage I Race 34405-06 8 SE Stage I Big Bore, SE Pro Slip Fit Mufflers
1550 Stage I Race 34359-06 25 SE Stage I Big Bore, SE Pro Performance Exhaust
1550 Stage II Legal 34242-06/DT 8 SE Stage II Big Bore Kit, Stock Exhaust and 02 Feedback
1550 Stage II Legal 34373-06/DT 25 SE Stage II Big Bore Kit, Stock Exhaust and 02 Feedback
1550 Stage II Race 34256-06 8 SE Pro Stage II Kit ad SE Pro II Slip Fit Mufflers
1550 Stage II Race 34379-06 25 SE Pro Stage II Kit ad SE Pro Performance Exhaust

Are you sure that you got the correct numbers????

And FWIW, the above roster is the correct builds, as per the Engineering section.... IE, the muffler type... Any deviation warrants a SERT or PC...

I punched these part numbers via chicago harley the 34400-06 comes up as
CART 1450 ST1 DYNA 8 DEG RACE the 34392-06 says not a valid part number
[sm=confused06.gif] so reading the flash list you sent which would be the part number
I would use 34399? thanks by the way

went back to dealer today with list shovelhead bob provided ...
he printed out a list showing both the downloads and the cartridges
that part number is legit it just cost me extra to figure all that out

The Cartridge is loaded with a 1 time use program to modify the fuel and ignition curve for a SPECIFIC Modification (A/C and/or Slip on Muffs, Cams, 50 MM Induction Module, etc...)

The programming in that cartridge is designed for a PACKAGE of components, that is HD Only, and no other manufacturers....

Hey Shovelhead... I just took a look at the D/L my dealer sold me........wrong one! I have the SEII Screaming Eagle slip ons, SE High Flow, and 8 degree injectors. It ran lean. I went back to the stock A/C, and that seemed to richen it up a bit, but it could run better.

I have the 34238-06DT From your post, it seams I need the 1450 Stage I Race 34399-06 8 SE A/C & SE Pro Slip Fit Mufflers.

Now I had this work done in November....am I screwed or do your think I should have them give me the right flash? Or.....was the flash I had the only one out then...soI am screwed.....

The "Race" Flashes have been around since the 06's came out.... It has been "Common Knowledge" to all interested parties... Mind you, I said INTERESTED!!!!!

Some Service Techs as well as Service Managers don't care... They will do a "Legal" Flash and shove it out the door, not caring about the customers or bikes well-being... That being said, I think that you are going to have to shell out some coin, or put up one hell of a fight to get them to do right by you.... You could threaten them.... Boycott them.... Sick the BBB on them.... Hell, maybe you could appeal to their sensibilities and maybe, JUST MAYBE they will throw you a bone....

As an example, in our shop, the Service Manager has the final say, but the Chrome Consultant or the Tech HAS TO GO TO THE MGR FOR THE LIST.. (Straight off of the HD Website [Tech Use only...Sorry Guys])...

Minimum 2 sets of eyes are confirming which SPECIFIC Flash is needed, or if we go with SERT... We do not, nor do we endorse PC's... Too many in the past have come back where they have crashed, or just shut the bike down, and had to be taken out of the loop... But some customers can't or aren;t willing to spend a few extra $$$$ for the SERT... Dyno is the same... $250 across the board...

SERT? DFO? Download?!

Ya know, after reading all the responses to your post, I'm lovin' my old carb!

A few 3 dollar jets, a couple of sets of new $6 plugs, an open stretch of blacktop and I'm good to go!

SPEFI or Carb, whichever it is, it needs to be tuned to your riding style. The maximum numbers may not be best for you. A good dealer will help you pick the accessories that will suite your needs and get you the best map or jets/needle for overall riding, not racing unless that is all you do (racing). I know that Biggs HD has custom maps designed for the "Stop Light Grand Prix" for EFI bikes that will put a smile on your face without a dyno tune. Racing bikes do not do well on the street, sometimes you just can't get past that Yugo in front of you.
