I just bought a set for my Fat-Bob and the instructions all included to use lock-tite. I guess H-D also got the word.

True, but the screws I'm mentioning are HD-installed. They hold the black fingers onto the sideplate. So, the instructions wouldn't be convering the problem I mentioned.
