Default How long does a battery charge hold on the Dynas?

With the fickle weather around here in March, it might be a few days to a week between rides until it straightens out.

I had the bike indoors over the winter, connected to a Smart Charger. I rode it Saturday in the good weather for over 120 miles, but the early part of this week the weather isn't too good again. It's a pain to get the bike back into the garage where the charger is, so it's in the driveway.

Should I worry about the battery over the course of 4-7 days sitting idle, or am I being silly? I seem to remember there were times with my Sporty it had to sit for a short stretch of bad weather and it was fine.

Thanks.

It will be fine.

Bought my Low Rider in April '06 and kept it in an unheated shed for a year without a battery tender (which I bought the following April).

Rode all the first season, laid the bike up in November until March, and it did just fine.

Although it would break my heart to have my bike sit in the driveway in the lousy weather.

Same story here. I keep mine locked up in a unheated shed. I rode for the last time the weekend after thanksgiving and for the first time this past weekend and there was no problem with the battery.

I've gone three seasons now without putting her on a tender while leaving her covered for the winter. Took her out yesterday and she started up the first attempt. You should be fine.

Should be no problem, especially if the battery is within a few years old.

Thanks. Of course, my bike has a HD "security system", so I wouldn't leave it all winter without a smart charger. But I guess a few weeks would be fine.

I live just north of you in Pawling, you left it out in that heavy rain we had last night? Don't know if I could ever do that. I have left mine for 2-3 weeks in the early part of late part of the season without the battery tender and never had a problem.
