Where is the wiring harness located on a 09 street bob for the control switches on the handle bars. I have a set of new bars to put on and new chrome switches and wires etc. I do not want to start untill I am sure where the harness is I dont bite off more than I can chew at this point in the year.

I think the wiring harness is internal to the bars. My dealer replaced the bars on mine before I picked the bike up and the mechanic told me there was a wee bit of hassle changing the harness but not too much.

 

The wires run through the bars thats already complete but the wires connects with crimped on pins to a harness somewhere in the frame under the tank LOL somewhere. How much did it cost to have the dealer install them for you.

 

On the sides of the frame neck are two large rubber grommets. Beneath these grommets, on the underside of the frame, there is a plastic cover over another access area. Remove the grommets and this plastic cover to find the connectors for the switches. You may have to unbolt and raise the tank to gain access.

Best to have a service manual to guide you through mods.
