Has anyone done this on an 08 Bob? I want to replace my factory gauge and fuel cap with a flush mount , but I'm not crazy about the Kury one's and th MOCO's burn out...what's my options?

Default HD Flush Mount

I agree, the HD Flush mount is a piece of crap. One of the LED's has already quit working. The gas cap came apart on me when refueling. When it came apart an o-ring came out and would not fit back in it. I bought a new cap on ebay and the other day I dropped it and it came apart. Same deal, O-Ring would not go back in, so I just assembled it without it. They are complete junk and a waste of money. I would also like to hear of anybody's luck with other styles.

I have the HD ones. First one crapped out after first rain storm, dealer exchanged it with no hassle. They are aware there is an issue.

2nd one is going strong. Been in rain multiple times, washes, cold, hot, etc.

On an 08 if you just use a dummy cap your low fuel light will stay on.

I've had plenty of issues with my HD one...comes and goes with no rhyme/reason. I suspect yours will return to life (like mine always does). Search my LED posts for more details.

Is the a way around this? Could you "jump" or modify the now empty fuel gauge connector to make the bike "think" there is a fuel gauge connected?

Depending on what look your going for. My buddy just bought the HD skull medallion gas cap covers and stuck it right over the gauge if your going to eliminate the gauge then you could use any medalion for gas cap and just cover it up.

I think you already answered your own question... "What are my options?"

HD stock
HD Flush mounts (don't work)
Kury (don't like)
No gauge...

Hope you find a solution
