Default Dyna MC Batteries

Been doing some research for a new battery and thought I would post.

The HD OE battery for my 06 Dyna is made by East Penn-Deka

HD OE battery at the dealer (Deka) 270CCA $100-120.00

East Penn Deka EX20LBS 270CCA at a deka dealer $79-88

other that fit:
Yuasa YTX20LBS 270CCA at MC shop $100
Interstate (Yuasa) CYTX20LBS 270CCA $73
Interstate (Yuasa) CYTX20HLBS 310CCA $76 (high performance)
Walmart (Yuasa) TX20HLBS 270CCA $69

I'll be going with the 310CCA interstate for $76

Note: ALL are AGM sealed batteries.

If you go to the east penn-deka website they have a dealer locator.

check all of those carefully before you buy for 006 and newer Dynas.

006 up has a very tight fitting battery box.

I know in my experience the InterState/Yuasa
would not go in without forcing it,
and would not come out short of a prybar.

I sent it back and went with the HD.

I did a lot of research as well,
looking for a high performance unit to crank my hi compression motor.
and I just could not find any hiPower batts to fit into the compartment.
The HD cranks just fine though. no issues.

Also, each manufacturer rates cranking using different formulas,
and they can be very misleading.

Argh, since my 05 has the battery exposed I guess I'm stuck with the HD battery. The others would look pretty weird sitting there exposed.
