Default Running without an air cleaner cover

I want to get my air cleaner cover powdercoated. Can I run the bike without the air cleaner cover on while it's getting powdercoated, or would that change the air flow too much?

Sadly, here in the PNW that is a distinct possibility.

Sure he does! Joe can make anything with a case of beer and a stack of milk crates and plywood.

I run my SE filter open. No issues yet.

You could be running very lean without it, which can cause immediate damage. Besides water, which turns into steam when it hits the combustion chamber, you can suck in anything.

I'm talking just running without the cover, not without the filter.
