Default Hand Lever Kits

Do you have to remove the master cylinder assembly to replace the hand levers? It doesn't look like you should have to, but the instructions are unclear. Any help would be appreciated. Also if you are removing the lever do you still need to insert the cardboard insert? I would assume so, but again...

thanks

ehhhh what does that mean anubisss? No you don't have to remove the Master Cylinder? ok, and no you don't have to install the cardboard?

What just pull the pin, pull the lever, install new lever, install pin.... done?

Thanks.

bberk, thanks, beyond that though, just remove pin, remove lever, press piston cap, install new lever, install new pin. I am guessing as you slide the new lever in you remove the item you are using to press in the piston cap. Is this correct? Believe it or not I am mechanically inclined. Just never done this before and don't want to screw it up.

Thanks

Ya thats about it but you may have to remove your mirror. Not sure if the stock ones are in the way but with mine the pin wouldnt clear the mirror.

After you get it all back on you should take the reservoir cap off and pull the lever (bike level). You should see a slight movement in the fluid to make sure the releif port is working.

bberk, thanks will take a look. And will inspect for the fluid movement to ensure it is working properly.

Thanks again for all the advice.
