Default Fat Bob headlight - FYI - stay away from rocks

FYI - Just had a rock hit my headlight on my Fat Bob FXDF dual light setup. It destroyed the glass completely on the left side. Being an integrated inner dual headlight bucket, had to purchase the HD part - $220 ouch.

HD would have spent very little if they designed the inner headlight bucket as two individual buckets, not as the integrated bucket. With the chrome housing, there would be no way to tell otherwise. It would be a lot less for the customer to replace if damaged.

Boy that sucks. I guess you need quicker reflexes so you can catch the rocks before they hit.

Sorry to hear but I don't think that's a fat bob flaw. Could happen to any one of us.

Good excuse to do like Ben and switch to a single headlight ...

I just discovered my headlamp had a rock chip in it, too. Seven inch seal beam - $17.95 ....

Not having that "ET" look ... priceless

AT least the rock didn't smack ya in the face. I've heard of guys going donw after a rock hits their face.

A week ago I had a gold ball sized rock shatter my truck's windshield, glad it didn't hit me while on the ole Fat Bob.
