True...could happen to any scooter wether 1 light or 2. Sorry to hear though. FWIW, one of the guys here converted his FB to a 1 light set up, and it looks good.

Just somethin' to consider...

These are the same people who laugh at me for wearing a full-face helmet.

I don't agree. $220 is chicken scratch compared to the cost of the bike. H-D made a design decision with these headlights, nothing more. It's not like someone was sitting in an office planning on how they could maximize profits if a rock hit the headlight.

Without those shareholders, H-D wouldn't be where it is today, if it even still existed. Reagan gave the company a bail-out decades ago. How would you feel if they were sitting right next to the Big Three auto-makers today asking for more?

Wow, that sucks. I know all you can think about is how much better you could of spent that $220 on some mods.

Default headlight

I think going with individual headlight buckets within the same housing would have been a lot more cost effective for HD instead of having to design the integrated unit, in turn the individual units would be more cost effective for comsumers.

Default headlight

all good points

One thing is I wear my windshield - full face, helps tremendously for rocks and bugs, all my friends I ride with have their windshields on their bikes, not their heads.

A week ago I had a gold ball sized rock shatter my truck's windshield, glad it didn't hit me while on the ole Fat Bob.
I've had a rock hit me in the helmet face shield. Deflected it and cracked. Must say it scared to the crap out of me but better the face shield than my face.

Honda lent H-D the money years ago, when the 13 took control of the Company from AMF...the govt lent Chrysler money, but they paid it all back. Honda had hopes that H-D would fail, so they could have control of the Company...but, costs were controlled and Honda was paid back quickly. Legend has it, that the Fat Boy model was released in 1990 to kinda "shove it Honda" haha...since the 2 bombs dropped over Japan during The War were named Little Boy and Fat Man...

...and the colors of the bomb? Yellow and grey..the first factory colors of the 1990 Fat Boy. Whoever said payback is a b!^ch wasnt jokin.. Dont get me wrong, I dont mean to go off on a tangent from a thread about an expensive headlight, and I mean no disrespect, but just want to set the record straight
