Bagged Up

Bagged Up
First of let me say that I wanted to keep my curved laydown plate and never found a turn signal
relocation kit that I liked. So I had this idea one day, Wide Glide/Fat Bob strut covers!
Thanks to Fupl18 I got hooked up with some Fat Bob covers.
The covers stick out past the fender a little bit, so I filled the inside of the tips with black
silicone and smoothed it out with a straght edge.
I had to lengthen the signal wires 5" due to the added length.
Since I was going to be using Ghost Brackets and I have the wide tire kit, I didn't want
anything sticking out inside the fender. So I dug up my old fender brackets and removed the
threaded post. And then I drilled out the smooth post on the wide tire brackets. Then tack
welded the threaded post, so now both posts are threaded.
Reinstalled the new covers with narrower Wide Glide signal mounts
Set up Willie & Max Ranger bags with Ghost Brackets and put them on.
Now I'm all bagged up!

BTW, do you know the size of that TS bolt for the wide Glide lights? I would like to think they are all the same size.
I just reread the caption!!! Great idea! I'm wondering if I can find a part like that threaded post without having to buy another set of brackets..
Great Mod!!

Did that Nut Sert looking thing come with those Brackets?
No, that is the bracket that comes with the wide tire kit with the smooth post drilled out. The nut sert looking thing is the threaded post from the stock bracket where I drilled out the tack welds to get them out.

The bolt is 1" long.
Thanks for the compliments!

I searched high and low through McMaster-Carr for that post, and couldn't find anything with the right dimensions. There is another post that has the part numbers for the wide tire brackets, they're like $20 for the pair.
