Default HID Headlight

They are all inside the headlight housing. That's one reason it was so expensive. Kuryakyn product but their quality control leaves something to be desired. Puts out tons of light though.

Thanks dyna rider. Do you have the xe5r? Do you have pics of it on your bike? Does the headlamp housing look too long? I could not tell from the couple of pics I found on their website.

here check out this website. i think this is the one im going to go with. http://www.xtralights.com/index.asp?...OD&ProdID=1349
you dont have to go with a whole headlight assembly like the kury. your not going to do any damage to the factory headlight lens. hid run 60% cooler than halogen bulbs they just put out more light.

Default Hid

BUSCHA The problem is (from what I've heard) is the ballast needs to be very near the bulb itself. A stock headlight (Street Bob) is not going to hold the ballast, so you will need to buy a new housing. It would still be cheaper than the Kuryakyn light. Just remember the ballast needs to be secured in the housing and you're good to go. The bulbs are supposed to last a very long time. The headlight looks big but you get used to the look. I actually like the look now. It seems to fit the wide glide trees well.

If you put that plug-and-play HID kit in the stock HD headlight, or any other halogen-based headlight for that matter, you'll blind every other motorist you come across. Installing HID's is a system, which includes bulb, ballast, and reflector/projector housing. I retrofitted HID's from a BMW M3 into my old Mazda 6 and it was awesome, but I've also seen them done without changing the housing. It's not pretty.

I have the xenon expert. It's not the easiest setup to install, but if you've ever had hid's in the past, they're hard to live without.
