Default 07 FXD Stage 1-appearance

Thought I might post a few pics of my 07 FXD. I have sort of divided the mods into 3 stages, appearance (this thread), handling, and performance.

Nothing super original, denim paint with lots of gloss black powder coat. Polished the stock wheels by hand and painted the inners. Added a tach and some swept back "flat track" bars (my 60 year old body needs comfort). Got most of the ideas from this forum, thanks to all.

Couple more pics..not too good at this

Engine is stock, with D&D fatcat. I have since changed out the muffler to a Supertrapp (not so loud).

Currently working on phase 2- suspension and handling.

The headlight is HD..plug and play.

I have finaaly found a pinstriper to add some minimalistic red striping

Gotta love the FXD's, bike looks great! And you've got your priorities straight IMO, handling and suspension first. Superglides have the potential to be Harley's best bike, again IMHO. Bberk, your bike looks great too, love that SE tach, speedo combo. I've been doing the same thing, suspension upgrades, works and Ricor in the front, YSS 366 TRL in back, and sputhe positrac. Next are brakes, so far only braided lines. Next composite rotors. Gotta make it handle and brake before any serious engine upgrades. I love to see what people have done to their FXD's. I bought mine not because it was cheaper, but because I knew I was going to change everything anyway.

Thx Madden. I have got most of my ideas from here, love ths Dynas and although they handle great stock, I guess there is always room to improve.

The Ricor in front is intriguing, I gather you are pleased with it?

Nice work, Greg. Like what you've done with the wheels. Do you have HotToppers on your motor?

Greg, yes very happy with the change in the front after the Ricor install. They are also promoting the product with a group buy right now 20% off. Promotion code "HDFORUMS"
