Gloss Black Powdercoat Came In
Photos to follow ...
Got my wheels laced up--just need to take 'em in and get the rubber mounted, bearings pressed in, trued and balanced. I had the stock pulley powdercoated, too ... looks great. I cleaned up my stock disc brakes ... I was going to polish them, but got impatient and just decided to leave 'em. I got up to 600 grit paper .... They look good, but don't gleam like chrome.
Black bars are now internally wired and reinstalled.
Strut covers look good in gloss black ... one side installed.
* * *
I got the hard bag brackets and I picked up some 1.25" by 1/8" stock and cut one adapter ... just gotta get to the other one and they'll be ready to install.
* * *
I'm waiting for a few things from Zanotti to complete my tank conversion to FXDB console/FXDL tank. According to the tracking, should be here Monday.
I hope to have everything assembled and ready to ride by Wednesday ... or at least before the week is out.

Been underway for a few days, just pulled in pierside and have a T-1 line hooked up. We'll be underway for a few more days ... maybe I'll get a chance to post some pics this weekend.
I was pretty sick for a few days before underway, so didn't get a chance to get much done on the bike ....
I got my new tires mounted on the wheels (which were trued, balanced and had bearings pressed in) ... d@mn, didn't count on it being that expensive! I laced them, but didn't have a jig to true them myself.
"I hope to have everything assembled and ready to ride by Wednesday ... or at least before the week is out." [written on 22 Feb] - man ... that was waaaaaayy optimistic! LOL

I'd been cogitating on what to do with my lower sliders ever since sending off all of my parts to the powdercoater ...
Since I was sick and then at sea for a bit recently, the urgency of making a decision was somewhat attenuated ...
Then, got the latest issue of American Iron last week. When I saw the photos below, thought to myself: "self ... that doesn't look too bad ... I could just leave the lower sliders and see what I think ... I can always get them powdercoated next winter if I don't like the look ...."
[My apologies for the crappy qualtiy photos ....]
