Gloss Black Powdercoat Came In
#12
Joe -
I was a little on the fence about it at first ... but I think it looks intentional. The wheels are powdercoated as well as a sh!tload of other parts ... just doesn't make sense that it would be a replacement that wasn't PC'd as an afterthought. Also, the story indicates that the bike's owner is an executive for whom the cost wouldn't have been an issue.
Maybe it was to kind of mirror the covered rear shocks ...?
For me, the issue is more of time and resources ... I want to get some riding time in before I have to go on deployment again this summer! Tired of my bike being disassembled in my garage; and, out of money after all the stuff I've bought/paid for this winter ... (not to mention just paying another installment of tuition/room & board for my son!).
Notice the replacement rubber on the wheels (just stock replacement Dunlops)

hey priest, bout time you put up some new pics. wheels look great. i picked up a set of 07 spokes from last saint. thinkin bout doin the same thing. what color are you gonna paint the tins? are you gonna do it yourself? I think black pc on the lowers your look great, but you might want to wait till its back together to see how it all looks together. Nothin wrong with a work in progress.
