Default Cut back fender on your Street Bob?

Has anyone out there cut back their fender just a little bit?
I want to keep the stock tail light position, but expose a little more of my fat 180 rear tire. I was thinking of cutting back about 1-2 inches. My question is will it be worth the trouble and the little bit of touch-up paint to finish the cut edge?
The previous owner had a dumb license plate holder attached to the bottom of the fender. I was going to cut just above the holes he left there.

Since this picture I have added a Kuryakin clear laydown LED tail light.

Default I like both looks.

I'm just a bit more of a fan of the shorter fender. I don't mind my new light on there. I can't see adding a side mount plate. I think I'll move the light higher and cut the fender up a lot more than I had planned. We'll see how it goes.
