Hey everyone,

I am thinking about adding a sissy bar to my fat bob. I will be using it primarily to mount a small bag on the back but to occasionally carry a passenger. I was wondering if most of you guys are using the quick detach unit or one that is permanently bolted on? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

I have one with a quick detach, but I never really take it off. The bags with my maps and gps are on it so I would get lost if I didn't have it with me.

 

I have the quick detach and I also use it for my bag and my wife enjoys the added safety and comfort.
You can't see it but I also added a luggage rack. The bag is resting on the luggage rack.

I was thinking about the sissy bar/luggage rack issue for mine, but I have a solo seat and don't want the luggage rack going to the rear of the sissy bar. My idea of a perfect setup would be that the luggage rack comes forward instead of to the rear where any luggage strapped to it would almost act as a backrest when strapped to the bike.

 

hey pois, that seat looks pretty comfy. How's the wife like the back seat? Does the rear section scratch the fender?

 

I got the quick detatch and it is the way to go for me. comes off in seconds when I want the stripped down look.

 

I have the fender rack and permanent sissy bar. I have learned in the past that i never take it off anyways.

 

Where did you get your seat/sissy bar/rack set-up? Who's the manufacturer? That's what I've been looking for to appease the Lil' lady.

 

Hey Poisond - I have the same detachable sissy bar, but what luggage rack are u using? Where does it attach?
