I agree. With the right heads and the right cams, 100 HP at the rear wheel should be no problem for a stock TC96. But what I'd like to see is someone purposely shoot for 100 ft lbs of torque at the rear wheel at say 3000 rpm, with a very flat torque curve, even if it meant a reduction in top end HP. That would be an interesting bike to ride.
Starting with a rebuilt bottom end, pipes with the right amount of backpressure(2 into 1 style), a bit longer and maybe slightly smaller diameter intake, a 'torque-centric' cam (don't have lift/duration on the top of my head) and then some head work, and 10:1 comp pistons, and a good remap.
.... might be a good place to start.... just my opinion.

No misunderstanding , read it on v-twin forums discussing stock cams. Said the 06 is a unique cammed bike , did headwork, 2-1, soforth . Owner wanted stock cam build.
Just reread the thread now, no misunderstanding , Scott also thought there might be more left with tuning. Oh he put on high ratio roller rockers 1.725 I believe.
