Belltip upswept pipes.

Belltip upswept pipes.
My bike is lowered pretty good and it leaves a lot of the swingarm exposed. Found a new belltip mulffler with a fifteen degree upsweep on ebay for fifteen bucks and finally got around to changing the pipes.
Had to buy a matching muffler for a hundred bucks,an eighteen inch heatshield for fourty four bucks,an extension for the front header at a muffler shop for ten bucks and about thirty bucks in black hi temp paint and chrome nuts and bolts.
Thought it turned out pretty good but I'm not totally sure I'll keep them. Kinda looks a little bit like some of the pipes I see on the Harley look-a-like inport bikes I see on the road. Guess I'll run them a while before I decide.
Anyway, here's some pics.
Good Luck

Orig pipes are the old off-road SE II's with BCT baffles. Loud.
Extension for the front header was one and three quarter automotive exhaust pipe expanded on one end to slip over the front header, sprayed with hi-temp flat black which will be covered with an eighteen inch heat shield.
Old piece of chrome strap I had laying around, cut, bent and drilled to secure the two mufflers in the proper position.
Coupla more pics with heatshield and pipes installed.
Not very good pics, been raining all day so just backed bike to edge of garage door.

Haven't ridden with them but just from running in the garage they seem fine, not quite as loud as the old pipes, but a better sound. They have more of a rumble instead of the blat, blat blat of the old pipes with the Thunder City baffles. Bike needs a little more back pressure anyway. It ran better before I put the more open baffles in the old pipes.
Good Luck
