Best Solo Seat?
#22
Thanks for the help guys! OK, now I like the looks of the Bare Bones the best. But I'm not getting it as there are some pretty negative reviews. Secondly, I think I like the looks of the Silhouette better than the Hollywood. I haven't tried many seats and I rarely feel any are that uncomfortable. I see alot of Hollywood lovers. Does anyone HATE the Silhouette? Is the Corbin going to make me melt into the seat with comfort enough to choose it over the Silhouette which I think looks better?

If you want cheap style, go LePera. If you want looks and comfort, look at the Corbin.
Want something in between, look at the Mustang Day Tripper or the C & C solo.

For comfort- Mustang solo... hand down & very affortable ($200-250 range)
For Looks- there a boat load of 'em and you can spend up to $$$$
I tried several seats when I made mine a solo bike...I had to balance between looks and comfort. I had a Corbin Hollywood solo..it went right back on ebay. Your age is a factor too..over 50 and you feel the bumps more.

OK I had a corbin hollywood and really liked it. Problem is they don't make a pad for the rear and the way the seat installs it's a pain to switch seats out. So I went with the mustang solo day tripper with a rear pad. The mustang is not as comfortable as the corbin but it is comfortable. I've only got about 300 on the mustang and every time I ride it gets better. So time will tell but I would recommend the mustang if you are going to ride two up or if only solo I would go with the corbin.

When you say pad for the rear, do you mean a backrest or a pillion pad for a passenger? I'm going with the Corbin Classic Solo, which accepts both. I'll probably catch some **** for putting a backrest on that bike with a solo seat, but I don't care. After riding with one on my Road King for several years, I like having that support.
