Default 06 dyna fork oil change. Easy way??

Has anybody come up wih a simple way to change out the fork oil on a 06 or later dyna without removing the fork tubes? Is it possible to suck the oil out the top of the tubes with a fluid extractor?

Jack up bike, remove front wheel, remove pinch bolt on right side, take a large allen (cant remember what size) on the bottom of each lower it'll drain right out.Put plugs back in, remove fork nuts and and fill.

10.5 oz of fluid if i recall... you may have to let it sit for a bit to get all the air and bubbles out it will "burp"

you may wish to reconsider how you would measure the oil as wet or dry or somewhere in between? I used this on adrianvail bike (SB) 110 mm to top of slider (fully collapsed) with the spring and spring preload pipes removed. You must pump up (fork Sliders as per manual, just ask mudpuddle who is downright handy on these things) to remove air bubbles et Al. Weather it makes a difference I just do not know on this antiquated (1948) suspension. Be careful with your seals and make sure that you coat the fork tubes with some type of lubricant, I use mineral spirits as this lets them babies slide out of the triple trees without scratching.

PS, Joe, this is an expensive fork oil level evacuater (sucker of oil). Fill the fork tubes up (near where they should be) than set the bottom (gold knurled nut) on the top of the slider, set the calibrated proboscis (silver thing that sucks like a mosquito) and pull the handle back and it sucks out all of the oil up to the level. As said before, make sure you pump the slider up and down (to remove air) than suck the oil.

That doesn't sound like enough Joe, It's been a couple of years since I did mine but I thought I drain'd like 1/2 gallon of oil (combined both forks).

This is gonna sound retarded, but he stealership told me 26.6 oz per tube. When i did it, it was too much. The way i judged mine was keep it 4 1/2 from the top of the fork tube fully extended.
This is when fully dry.

How much oil do you think you used? I thought it was measured compressed without springs.

Adrianvale used 4 bottles of SE Fork Oil with one portion of the last bottle still containing oil. I would say you are correct on the 26 oz's but I do not do it that way.
