Default does anyone have ideas for a backrest

I have an of Streetbob with the stock 2 piece seat. On long trips my back starts to hurt because I dont have any back support. Does anyone have ideas for a backrest. Im on a limited budget so I cant spend alot of money

The seats with integrated backrests are fairly spendy I think. I went with a 2up touring style seat from HD, called the Sundowner. It's big and not as attractive as I'd, but it is sure comfortable to ride on.

If the stock saddle doesn't have any opening for a backrest, then you'll most likely need to replace it with something else that does. I opted for a Corbin saddle & backrest on my FLHR and it's great. Much more support than anything from Harley, and no hot spots from foam that collapses.

However, that's not a cheap solution.

Sorry I do not have any good ideas, or I would have used it. I have the Mustang seat with the backrest. Cost was somewhere around the 550.00 mark, and was some of the best money I have spent, for long rides, especially if you have bad back as I do.

I have a motherwell solo rack that I only intend to use for long trips. I plan to buy a steal rod the same diameter as the rod used on the rack. I am going to bend a a rounded upside down V then bend the ends so they will line up to the sides of the motherwell rack. Then I will either have them welded to the rack or I may try and make something that I can use a set screw set up to slide the backrest forward or backwards. I will have the whole thing powder coated when it's done. I will post a pic whenever I finally get done with it. I think if it turns out like I am thinking it could be a great idea. if not it may be a piece of cr#p.

If you have a sissy bar the cheapest way is to pack a gym bag full of cloths so that you can lean againt it on long trips. and strap it to the sissy bar on the seat behind you. On my really long hauls i put my Tbag on the seat behind me like this and nice comfortable back rest.
