Thanks for the replies, I will probably install a baffle of some sort but don't really want to pay the dealer. I don't wanna screw it up, so does anyone have a link to instructions for how to install baffles on these v&h?
It's fairly easy, just have to take off the heat shields and take out the set screw to pull the old baffles out.
There isn't any reason the dealer shouldn't give you the baffles they took out - they are yours! I would at least get those before going out and paying extra for something you already own.
I just installed the same pipes (with stock baffles) on my Fat Bob today and the sound is freaking awesome. I had Rush 1.75" slip-ons with the stock headers before, and the difference is quite noticeable.
I agree with all the guys who told you to put the baffles in. Just another quick thought....Did the dealer tell you you need a fuel processor, or at least the stage 1 down load to richen up the fuel mixture ?

+1
no baffled short shots will have you running lean and hot.
I found this dyno chart while doing some research, and remembered this thread so I thought I'd post it. They test 3 runs. One with baffles, one without baffles and no fuel correction, and one without baffles and corrected fuel.
