I just put the quiet baffles in my Short Shots, it runs a little better and has a much better tone to it. I can't imagine running them with no baffles at all.

I have the standard baffles in my SS's. It's plenty loud and has lots of torque to boot. I ride with guys that have drag pipes and after a few hours their pipes start getting a little bothersome.

Thanks for the replies, I will probably install a baffle of some sort but don't really want to pay the dealer. I don't wanna screw it up, so does anyone have a link to instructions for how to install baffles on these v&h?

If I'm not mistaken they are just held on by a nut you access from the outside. unbolt it and slide them out. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I think that only applies to rock-n-roll. Our saying is loud pipes save lives

You have to take off the heat shields in order to gain access to the allen head screw the holds them in. It's located on the bottom of the pipe near the tips. Taking the heat shields off isn't that hard, just some hose clamps holding them on. Take a look from underneath and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Love the sound of V&H quiet baffles. They just take the edge off but still sound great.
