Any of you guys have an issue with the chrome on the inside reflector with these hotter bulbs?? I bought an aftermarket light from EP and within a few months the chrome bubbled on the inside. They replaced it, and within 3 weeks I could see it happening again. I swapped out the piece with my stock one and it seems to be ok. Just wondering...

I got the PIAA Super White Bulb. WORKS GREAT!!!!!! Well worth the investment. It's a little more expensive since it designed for a motorcycle and the vibration it endures. The element is much thicker.
Be sure NOT to touch the bulb when installing. It has a bluish tint to the beam. But it will LIGHT THE ROAD.
Others are using the Silverstar H4. It's $20 cheaper.

I have had PIAA and they are a great bulb but i found a cheaper one a candelpower bulb
i have them in both bikes they are a german bulb they work very good also
when you install these type of bulbs i was told to take the rubber boot off and leave it off it trapes heat and that is a bulb killer and could melt

Here,s a link to Knee Draggers where I got mine. I was concerned about "heat" & "vibration" also. This bulb only draws enough current for 60W(H-Beam) & 55W(l-Beam). A high current draw will heat your wiring and put a lot of heat into the headlight.
Also, my Dyna had vibration problems but the bulb has held up. The price of the bulb is $48.50. The FatBob with it's twin 4" light and closed nacelle might be a different issue.
I have not seen any damage to my reflector, but I will pull the headlight nacelle to check the rubber boot. Had mine for 2 years now.

Fat Bob headlights
Haven't opened up my headlight bucket yet, but looking in the "parts manual", it looks like two different lights: one straight plug - left (68329-03) and one L-shaped plug - right side (2 part #'s 69838-08 or 68881-01). I think the euro light doesn't have both light up at once, so the euro right might be single filament high beam.
Looking in the "service manual" they list domestic (69838-08 x 2) and international (68881-01 x 2), so the 68329-03 no clue.
Guess need to open the housing and what is true
left/right - sitting from rider position
As someone mentioned, the bucket size in a FatBob might be of concern for using some of the aftermarket lights. Usually the higher quality brands like PIAA put out less heat.
Any comments?
