best caliper for 300mm (11.8") 2006-up models?
#11
Thanks tbrenan. The companies I talked to (PM; QMT/brembo; hawghalters) told me that the HD front caliper in 2006 up dynas remained the same as that for 2000-2006 dynas. So it seems that the MoCo didn't alter their calipers! Funny though that in many bikes the rear caliper is still 11.5". Front metric, rear imperial, go figure... (I'll check what you've said to do)

More news... Just got off the phone with QMTI/brembo see here: http://www.qtmi.com/STREETcalipers.html. Their calipers take an adapter which must be purchased separately. The best caliper they offer is a 4 piston 4 pad caliper. They were a bit hesitant at first whether this would fit with a wire wheel, but at the end the guy said that it should be fine.

First things first 11.5 as a measurement is 11 1/2 inches, 11.8 is not an imperial measurement, try cutting a 2 x 4 11.8" the confusion arises from the Motor Co switching to metric, there is no standard metric size comparable with 11.5" So for conformity the went 300mm or in imperial 11 3/4" the 1/4" difference between old and new rotors in so minimal as to be nothing ----measure the surface of your existing rotor for wear that is the area that counts
Now that said I am after a rear "bracket" only for mounting aftermarket calipers on the Dynas 06/07 any hints tips --like the Harrison calipers
