O6 Exhaust Question TFI or Download
On a 06 Bob, I'm installing V&H Big Radius. Not having a garage and living in south florida, and BTW it was 90 degrees today, I've decided not to self install my pipes. The Dealer wants 4 hours labor + $139 for the A/C and $150 for the download. I found a Harley shop that would do it for 2 hours labor + $139 for the S/E A/C and $250 for the TFI which they say I would need. It is only about a fifty dollar difference. Questions is.....which one do I go with? The Stealer tells me the TFI will adjust the fuel but not the timing, which needs to be done when installing aftermarket pipes.

There's nothing confusing here.....you have an advanced fuel injection system closed loop system and 2 or 3 options to get your bike running right. I made a pretty good recomendation with the SERT. Quite a few of us 06 owners are all over the tuning of these closed loop bikes and this is the way to go for the best results. I don't want you to throw away money like I did when I bought the wasted $150 download (that won't work for you anyway with your pipes) and the $220 TFI which I had to remove every time I took the bike into the shop (they are not friendly towards fuel enrichners). It's your call but you are getting very good advice.
Racin' Daytona 'aint got nuttin' to do with it! Getting your bike to run the way it should does!
PS, I have solid experience tuning both the TFI and SERT and myself and others are here to help. Feel free to ask.

It should take you 1 hour max to install those pipes yourself. I have decided to go with the PCIII. You can do the DL at home and not give the stealer anymore of your money. I am installing the Big Radius this week. I have read on bunch of different places on here that the HD DL will be worthless if installing new exhaust and A/C. Good luck, there is a ton of info on this topic.
