Speaking with the dealer, they tell me the problem they been having was not the download but the injectors causing the 06's to run lean with after market pipes. No problem with the download with vance & Hines or Reinharts. Am I gullible or what? Would a TFI or PC void the warranty.

 

no they dont void your warrenty.hd has a race fueler too its the same thing as a tfi pc111 its just an enricher

 

I've been reading with great interest about the options for the stage 1 work. I hope to be getting mine done soon. Of course the dealer automatically suggests the HD download, and I just assumed I would go with that, but now I'm not so sure. My question is: what do the acronyms stand for? I know SERT is Screaming Eagle Race Tuner, but what is TFI and PCIII? Thanks.

I got a TFI, simple, efficient, and inexpensive. I recommend it for simple stage 1 mods.

TFO= Total Fuel Optimizer
PCIII= Power Commander version 3
DFO= Digital Fuel Optimizer

This is my understanding, someone will correct me if wrong. Just different names for different companies products that very basically do the same thing change the timing, spark and injector maps. I am still trying to figure it all out myself. From my reading it appears that the SERT would be the cheapest in the long run if you will be going to a big bore kit and other mods over the years. The only downside I see is that it is tied to that particular bike and cannot be used on another bike because of the diffent serial number on bike 2.

The TFI and the PC111 will do the same, well.....not exactly. Foe those who install a TFI you can adjust the fuel flow, and whats nice is that you can make ajjustments with the touch of a screw driver. Now the Pc111 with map down load will adjust the fuel also however the ignition adjustment is not on the map, you have to get the ignition adjusted when you get it dynatuned with the PC on the bike. If you are going with a Bore kit, yes you need the PC111. With a screamin eagle A/C and V&H pipes, a TFI will do the job. Am I right guys?
