Default Just picked up my first HD

Last week I purchased my first HD. Of course the weather in NC didnt hold the last 3 days I was in town so I had to tuff out 30s and below to get some ride time in. I bought the bike with 2 miles on it and rolled it over to 102 before I left. Anyway so far I love it alot more then my last bike (CBR 600RR). Only mods so far are the forward controls which were a must even though im only 5'9" my legs were uncomfortable with the mid controls. Once I get back to NC in march I plan on either a set of 16in apes or stg 1. I also wanna get the engine covers all blacked out. Any suggestions on good places to get stuff online is appreciated as well as suggestions on a nice exhaust set up.

Well done and welcome to the family!!! Looking good!

As to blacking parts out, if you want them powder coated, I'd send them JRK here on the board. Joe does fantastic work and is very reasonable.

Ride safe and have fun!!!

Congrats Mike! Nice bike... these are the bikes with a heart and soul.

J&P Cycles, Eastern Performance, Harley website, ebay and this forum. All good places!

Many many choices for exhaust.... and most depend on what appeals to ya! Lots of threads dealing with the most on this forum. Vance & Hines, Thunderheader, Rush.. and the list goes on!

Congrats on the new bike and welcome to the HD family. Life as you knew it has now changed. I bought my third HD on Sunday, a Fat Bob, took her out today and enjoyed the ride. You have a great looking bike...ride safe.

I just bought the same exact bike, and I recognize the PT belt. I am out in Monterey right now. We have to were a vest on post, the PT belt doesn't cut it anymore. Congrats on the bike.

Nice, if you have to wear a vest at your base, get the Icon vest.

Yeah, that's what I'm rockin' right now as well...a vest would be better, but there's other things I'd rather buy.
