Default Street Bob fenders

Hello to the Dyna forum, this is my first post here. I obviously have an 08 Street Glide, but i just picked up a 06 Street Bob less than a week ago. Pictures will be coming soon.

I am ready to start "fixing' it right away. I am very happy with the bike, it just needs more personality. My question to the forum is about rear fender fitment for the different years from 06 through 09. I have been given two different answers by the dealers who dont have a clue about a part unless it is printed in their magic book. I am interested in bolting on a chopped 09 rear fender, will it fit directly on my 06?

Thank you for your input!

I believe the 07-08 are wider then the 06 and older. Not sure about the 09s yet. I haven't read anything on them. I know they are the same width, but I don't know about the mounting being the same. There are a few DYNAs in here that chopped the stock DYNA fender and it looks great.

The 06 through 08 are the same fender. I would think the 09 would bolt up fine. Can't imagine the MoCo designed a new, separate frame just for the Street Bob in 09.

Search the Dyna forum for lots of pics from guys who have chopped the rear fenders themselves.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm still getting two different answers. I know that i can chop the fender myself and I am considering it. I thought I might pick up a used 09 fender and see where to go from there, i kinda like the chop they did on it. Any more expertise out there?

Unless you plan on leaving the tagholder in place on the 09 fender, be aware that it is not a straight cut...there is a tiny notch in the tip of that fender, for whatever reason.

That notch is good to know about. It is starting to sound more and more like I will be making my own chopped fender. I guess I will be looking for an 06-08 stock fender to work with.

I'm new to the Dyna family, but I have learned that the frame was redesigned on the '06. I just got an '07 and the fender width is 8 inches.

Ok here is the answer! The 06 and up fxd,b,c,l use the same rear fender .you can use a fxdwg rear fender but you need their strut covers to complete the switch....the fatbob has a fatter tire which required a wider fender so that fender cant be used...

you can install an 09 streetbob fender on your 06. Maybe someone with an 09 can show you a pic of that fender after they installed a side mount plate. This way you can decide to either get an 09 fender or experiment with cutting up either your current one or an 06-08 that you purchase.
