13" apes on 08' Superglide Custom
I am going to put 13" apes on my 08' Superglide custom this winter. Have them all picked out and ready to order everything...cables,levers,etc.My question is does anyone have 13" apes on their bike and how are they for comfort and looks? pics would be great if possible. I decided on 13's becasue the 10's were just not enough but I dont want to go as extreme as the 18's. Any feedback or pics would be awesome. Thanks to all and ride safe!

To be honest, I agree with Archer, you may want to look at getting some different riser heights to see what you really want. I wondered the same things, even had the stock mini-apes on my St. Bob. I was worried about hurting my bad shoulder which got sore from riding more than an hour or so at any time. But I was reading here about someone (forgot the gentlemans name) wrote about how they have 16" apes with a bad shoulder and it actually feels better on his shoulder than low rise bars. So I gave it shot, 16" apes are on now and they work great. Yes they are tall and depending on your height, maybe too tall. Either way, leave your options open.

How did you come up with 13" bars?
Something my local indy taught me (you need a friend to measure):
Sit on bike.
Close your eyes.
throw your hands out and let them settle to where they want to be.
Open eyes.
Have friend measure height.
Repeat a few times to make sure it's consistent.
Order bars/cables that equal your "comfort" level.
