Default Brake pedal mod???

Has anyone found a way to change the brake pedal on the Dyna?

My wife has a new Lowrider and the brake pedal is lower than the peg. Since she is short, and her feet small, I can tell it is going to be difficult for her to use the back brake.

Does anyone know if I can replace it with a pedal from a different bike? I looked and I don't see any adjustments. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

If you look where the brake shaft goes into the master cylinder you will see a nut loosen the nut its 13mm then right in front of the nut is a plunger its 12mm turn it until the pedel is where you want it tighten the nut back up and your ready to go.

Dude, you got one of the most slick bikes I've ever seen. The accents are not my style, but it sure looks nice.

My OL had the same issue........Kuryakyn makes a pedal which is longer which takes away the need to pigeon toe the pedal. In addition, I made a spacer about 1/2 thick which I placed between the Kuryakyn pedal, and the brake mounting arm, which raised the pedal that additional height.

Adjusting the pedal as described by others, just wasn't enough for her to reach comfortably.

Respects,
Ed

JohnE - could have written the exact same words!

Wife also just bought a 09 low rider and same issue.
We have been looking for a pad to slip over the damn pedal to gain some height. On the other Dynas they have replacement pad vs the one piece.

She even liked the brass knucks but probably too slippery for her. We will probably find a pad she likes, put a spacer under it and screw that puppy down. Why the heck they made a one piece pedal is beyond me.

Short of that we have to throw away the stock pegs so I am going to try her old Kury switchblades to see if can I accomplish the same thing by rotating the peg to make the pedal seem higher. EDIT - here they are mounted, she hasn't ridden with them yet but says they feel better - you guys know how that goes, I'll keep my tools handy.

My 03 has the same problem and I tend to have to kind opf tippy toe the thing. Almost easier to just use my heel. Think that it is more the angle than the location. If it was bent upwards I believe it would be easier to engage with my toe Oops. Another new item, an FXDL brake lever that works,
