This is such a dumb question but I have to know. Why is there not 4 screw holes where the license plate goes on the back of the fat bob?

Am I supposed to only screw in 2 screws for the plate to the back of the stock license plate mount?

 

BTW is the only way around the issue is buying a license plate kit? I rather use stock.

 

The ones that come on the bike are so fugly that the moco figures your going to buy a new one. The lay down license plate comes with 4 bolts. The same reason they put all the anodized bolts on the bike. If you really want to use your stock plate holder go to Ace Hardware and get chrome or polished stainless steel bolts with acorn nuts.

I didn't like it either. I cut of the plastic license plate part off and bought a side mount. Want to get the flush LED tail light in the future.

 

Can't go wrong with the LED tri-bar tail light... it's what should have came stock.

Did somebody say LED tri-bar tail light? For sure it should be the standard light on the Fat Bob. The stock light just looks ridiculous with all the space around it. HD copied the slick Yami Warrior light and got it right.

 

My stock plate mount stays on fine. HD started that style when the wideglides came out. The japs copied them. I put a fatbob fender on my 80 lowrider and used a cats eye tailight that looked pretty sweet.

 

I had to get the tri-bar led. It's pretty sweet compared to stock. Hopefully I don't have any problems with the leds. My brother has 20,000 kms on his 08 Streetglide and the leds are toast already.
