have you looked under it... looks so lame under there, plus there are support brakets welded there... look under it and you will change your mind, may want to look into getting a diff tank like a split bob tank

I think the best you can do is buy a 2004 or later superglide tank and dash with center fill.
That's about the "flattest" solution out there as far as bolt on goes.

I was going to say what Joe did...it's not just a tank with the dash on top.

Maybe you could make some sort of smaller pod or housing to hold the speedo.

Or, my favorite option...chrome it!

Dam Joe, just like Dpriest said, evertime we get a new angle on the ride I get more and more ideas! Looks f*%#ing awesome bro!!!!!!

I did my LR dash basically like what Joe did with the LEDS and such. One of the best modes I have done to date.

I think an FXD/04-06 FXDC tank is your best option. You may be able to come up with a bracket(custom) to install the speedo on the rear lifter cover.

Something to think about...
Console and tank top from a FXD. weld the speedo cup in the SG top and set the speedo in the fuel cap trim ring. You can either keep the SG fuel gauge, or install an ignition switch in there.

That will lower the profile of the tank considerably.

Like the other said a FXD tank may be your best option. It wouldnt be hard to find someone wanting to swap tanks since alot of guys with FXD's would like to move the speedo to the tank.

Pic of tank with a LED fuel gauge and chrome cap
