Default Replacing rear pulley bolts

I plan on replacing the rear pulley bolts on my 2008 FXDL with the Harley replacement chrome bolts part (no. 94773-07.) Any tips out there from someone who has done this? Thanks

I put the chrome bolts on mine when I added a chrome pulley cover. No big deal, just follow the instructions and torque to the proper spec.

+1 Not a big deal, I think the torque spec is 60 to 65. I just added a chrome DNA pulley

You might want to think about some red lok-tite. Ever seen what happens when the pulley bolts come loose? Not good.

+2 on the red locktite. It will be a bad if you don't use it. Their is a few post on the forum about what happens when the bolts decide to back out. You are supposed to check them every service.

Default Pulley Bolts

When I replaced my pulley bolts I used blue Loctite on the bolts and have had no problems. Red Loctite has to have heat applied to release the threads. If your rear hub gets hot it won't make any difference if you use red or not. Rear pulley bolts should be part of your preflight checklist.

I cheated and had the dealer do mine when they did my rear tire. Chome the pulley while your at it.
